Pivot’s mandate is to support the best of poetry and fiction writers, both established and emerging, from Toronto and beyond. Spoken word, theatre, performance art and other genres are well represented elsewhere in the city.
As with its predecessor, the IV Lounge Reading Series, Pivot hosts three readers a night, with no open mic.
We are not currently funded other than via a PWYC collection which is split evenly amongst the three readers. We regret we cannot offer to cover travel costs.

If you’re a new or unpublished writer, please include a sample of your work. If you are an author or publicist and have a new book to promote, please provide details including the title, publisher and timeline for publication, so we can schedule your reading at the most opportune time.
